January	New Year’s Day	On January 1	The New Year on January 1 is the beginning of the Gregorian calendar year and a public holiday in Bangladesh.
February	Language Martyrs’ Day	February 21st	This day is a sacred festival for the Bangladeshi people, especially the intellectuals. On this day, the whole country will commemorate it grandly.
Mar.	Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birthday	March 17th	This is the day of commemorating the birth of Sheikh Mujib Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh.
	Independence Day	March 26th	To celebrate independence, every year, the capital Dhaka holds a grand military parade and a mass parade.
April	Bengali New Year	April 14th	On the first day of the Bengali New Year, people marched along the streets with masks and different animals.
	Eid-ul-Fitr	April 22nd	Eid is the first day of the Islamic Shal month, which marks the end of the Ramadan. During Eid, many Muslims participate in group prayer, listen to a sermon, and do charity in food form.
May	Labour Day	On May 1	The International Labor Day, also known as the “International Demonstrations Day”, is the Labor Day for most countries in the world.
	Vesak Day	May 26th	The Festival is a festival to commemorate the birth, formation and nirvana of Sakyamuni Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Buddhists in Bangladesh hold grand celebrations during the annual festival.
June	Eid al-Adha	June 29th	Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival commemorating Ibrahim’s willingness to follow Allah to sacrifice his son.
August	National Mourning Day	On August 15	It is a day to mourn the death of those killed in a massive fire in the capital Dhaka.
September	The Prophet’s Birthday	On September 27	Sunni Muslims celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad on the 12th day of the Islamic rabbi month, while Shiite Muslims celebrate on the 17th day of the month. Muhammad is believed to be the last prophet.
December	Victory Day	December 16th	It is a festival set to commemorate the victory of the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971.
	Christmas Day	On December 25	Christmas is one of the most festive festivals in many countries in the world. It celebrates the birth of Jesus.
